The Kostershuisje in Nuenen.... a historic gem in the beautiful center of Nuenen. It is perhaps the most tangible place in Nuenen that characterizes the history of our village. Once built as a weaver's house.... and, according to historians, once placed as a wooden house... at the bottom of the lime tree of Nuenen, which was so important to the village. A large loom has stood in this house.... Captured on paper by Van Gogh several times.

and house that was built in 1763 as a weaver's house. It was bought in 1869 by weaver Willem van der Burg. His daughter lived there until 1967. It is likely that Vincent van Gogh knew the house from the outside as well as from the inside.
