The Katharina von Papenburg is one of the six ship replicas that make up the Papenburg Open-Air Maritime Museum. The traditional sailors are simply magnificent to look at. This ship is a so-called tea clipper, it could sail faster than other cargo ships and was therefore used for perishable goods on all seas.

The open-air maritime museum in Papenburg is an unusual museum and almost impossible to identify as such, as the replicas of Papenburg sailing ships from the 19th century are spread all over the town. If you want to see the whole museum, a short tour of the Fehnstadt is unavoidable.
