On the walk to the castle Schwarzburg on the mountain spur of the Oberortes you will find on commemorative plaques that remind of a very special event in our history, which is connected with Schwarzburg. On July 31, 1919, the National Assembly in Weimar adopted Germany's first democratic constitution. Reich President Friedrich Ebert and all ministers signed it on August 11, 1919 in Schwarzburg, and put it into force. I like the illustrated article 150 very well.

Take the time to read the articles of the 1919 Constitution set in stone in the ground. Their implementation seems at least as necessary today as it was 100 years ago. It was in good shape. According to the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, after the GDR was annexed, the German people were to adopt a new constitution. That hasn't happened to this day. The Basic Law as provisional is still valid. The constitution of the Weimar Republic from 1919 to date is the only democratic constitution in Germany.
