Most photos show the view directly from the Reitsteig. To reach the breakfast spot, you have to take the small path westward for about 100 meters. The view from there is even more expansive than from the Reitsteig. And it's much quieter there, too. You can't see the thorn from there, as it's one level lower. But the view of the Heilige Stäge, Muschelkopf, and Heringsgrundnadel is beautiful.
