The Lehnsteig is a great ascent / descent for hikes in the Schmilka area. The Great Winter Mountain can also be reached quickly via it. Caution sure-footedness is required.

A delightful staircase and a nice alternative to the wide and gravelly root path. For the most part, you only climb a few wooden steps, with wild and romantic high sandstone cliffs towering on both sides. The top entry or exit of the stairs offers a bit of variety. Relatively steep stone steps have to be climbed here. All paths lead from the climb itself, which lead to climbing rocks and views, some of which are quite worthwhile, but also not legal. - at least that applies to hikers.

The Lehnsteig branches off to the left of the root path. In the upper part the Lehnsteig becomes quite steep. It is highly recommended as an alternative to the root path.
