Hiking

A small grotto was built on the outer wall of the church in Lind, which is decorated with a figure of the Virgin Mary. According to the inscription on the base, the Blessed Mother is worshiped here with the title "NOTRE DAME" (our dear lady), which is common in French-speaking countries.
Some very old stone crosses in a small gravel bed next to it complete the ensemble.

Hiking

In the center of Lind (municipality of Altenahr) stands the parish church of this village, situated high above the Ahr River. It is dedicated to Saint Notburgis, sometimes also called Notburga. As one might easily guess, her name means protector against or in times of need. Her feast day in the liturgical calendar is October 31st.

Hiking

As in almost every village, Lind also had to mourn victims from the two world wars in the first half of the last century. A war memorial / memorial has been erected below the church in honor of their memory, but above all as a reminder of peace for future generations.
