The Couvent des Cordeliers de Dinan was founded around 1247 as a Franciscan monastery and expanded in the 14th and 15th centuries. After its dissolution in 1791 during the French Revolution, it was converted into the Catholic Collège-Lycée des Cordeliers in 1807. The Gothic-style complex, with its cloister and historic portal (listed as a historical monument in 1930), is one of the oldest religious buildings in Dinan. Today, the former monastery serves not only as a school but also as a cultural venue, regularly hosting art exhibitions such as "L'Art aux Cordeliers," featuring works by regional artists.
