The former water mill in Neubruchhausen near Bassum was first mentioned in writing in 1583; but it can be assumed that she is much older. The current mill building dates back to 1730. In 1974, the country trading and milling business had to be completely discontinued due to the death of the last miller and the mill was then largely cleared.2015-2023 the mill was gradually restored and re-equipped with original drive and milling technology from the 1920s and 1930s. A complete grinding plant with cleaning, a simple roller mill and a double sifter as well as a mixing plant was created. A newly manufactured mill with a downstream hexagonal classifier is also used to produce wholemeal flour and grist. A restored single-cylinder diesel engine from Herforder Motorenwerke from 1934 and an additional historical slip-ring motor are now installed for the drive. The mill is part of the Mühlendreieck district of Diepholz muehlendreieck-diepholz.deOpen on the 4th Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. or on request. Gladly even when the doors are open or the engine is running. www.wassermuehle-neubruchhausen.de
