A faded image of a skull is emblazoned on a house wall in Alley Susona. You have to overlook him if you didn't notice that "Susona" in the museum beforehand. A central legend of the community is entwined around this Susana Ben Susón. It is set around 1480. Many Jews survived the murderous pogroms of 1391 as converts in the city of Seville and were only halfway re-establishing themselves, but were constantly suspected by the Inquisition, which had had its headquarters in Seville since 1480, as schemers and rebels, poisoners of wells and child eaters.
