The market hall is a very typical shopping temple. What's special: excavations that have been exposed and preserved right in the center of the hall (right next to the butcher's stand).

The market hall was built in 1895 in the neo-Gothic style. Until the middle of the last century, the people of Danzig called it “Dominikhalle” because it was built over the former Dominican monastery (see excavations of the foundations in the basement).
