After the new tower was put into operation on October 29, 1971, the large lantern was again taken over by the city of Kiel for an Olympics in Germany and set up in the city center at the old boat harbor. The “new” lighthouse Friedrichsort was equipped with a fog fire in 1990. The 31.7 m high structure is a round white reinforced concrete tower with a green and white banded gallery.
