Location of traditional sailing ships for the Kiel Week.

Walk along Kanalstrasse in the direction of Tiessenkai. On the water side is the waterways and shipping office on the lock island, you pass the marina and then see what is perhaps the most maritime area in Kiel in front of you.The Tiessenkai, named after the ship chandler Hermann Tiessen, is one of the most beautiful maritime corners of Kiel. Great flair with very old, rustic and cozy houses. Coffee and self-service restaurant with a view of the Kiel inner fjord and lock entrance. In nice (or even dry) weather, a wonderful place to slow down.
