Koker windmills are a further development of the Bockmühle, and was developed around 1410 in Holland. This one in Walbeck also comes from the Netherlands and was bought in 1823 by the miller Hermans and rebuilt here. Originally it was a sawmill in Holland, but was operated here as a grain mill until 1952. It is the only Kokermühle in the Rhineland.

The only coker mill in the entire Rhineland was built in the Netherlands in 1770 as a wooden sawmill. In 1823 the Hermans family acquired the mill, dismantled it and rebuilt it as a corn mill in Walbeck. In 1952 the last miller sold the grinder and shut down the mill.

In the 1960s, it passed into the hands of the towns of Walbeck and Geldern, which were succeeded by the district of Kleve after the municipal reform in 1975. Today the mill is privately owned by an architect who extensively and exemplary restored it in 1997/98.
