Cycling

Until the Reformation, the collegiate church was a famous pilgrimage site to the tomb of St. Goar, the missionary and founder of the town of the same name. Even Charlemagne visited this tomb. The interior of the church is adorned with late Gothic murals and net vaults, a remarkable pulpit, and three outstanding funerary monuments. The three-aisled Romanesque crypt, dating from the 11th/12th century, is considered the most beautiful between Cologne and Speyer.
