These aren't sequoia trees...
Swamp cypress, Taxodium distichum, family Cypress family
It grows to around 35 m high, but not very wide. Its wood is highly sought after in the American forestry industry. The older specimens form so-called root knees. The bald cypress sheds its needles in the fall.

Sequoias are evergreen trees. They belong to the cypress family. It can grow up to 95 m in height and have a trunk circumference of 34 m.
Here they have partially developed root protuberances (small root mounds) growing above ground against the force of gravity. In oxygen-poor soils, they help the roots to breathe.

There are numerous giant sequoias in Luisenpark. They are also beautifully illuminated during the winter lights.
