The aqueduct Liesing is a listed building of the Vienna water supply in the course of the 1st Vienna spring water pipeline in the 23rd district of Vienna Liesing. It leads across the valley of the river of the same name1. The valley crossing, a small part of which is still in the Perchtoldsdorf district in Lower Austria, was built by the London-based construction company Antonio Gabrielli under the construction management of the Vienna City Building Office between 1870 and 1873 using non-frost-resistant bricks. The Liesing aqueduct is one of several aqueducts that cross the 1st Viennese spring water pipeline. The last aqueduct before the Rosenhügel reservoir is the Speising aqueduct, which is also in the 23rd district and was renovated in 2006.

The Liesing aqueduct is an impressive structure that forms part of the 1st Viennese spring water pipeline. The aqueduct has been supplying the city of Vienna with fresh spring water from the Alps since 1873. The Liesing aqueduct bridges the valley of the Liesingbach over a length of around 750 metres. It was built of brick, ashlar and quarry stone and is up to 18 meters high. The Liesing aqueduct is not only a technical monument, but also a beautiful hiking destination. You can walk or cycle along the line canal and enjoy the countryside views. There are also some sights near the aqueduct, such as the Nikolai Chapel, the Lainzer Tiergarten or Schönbrunn Palace.
