In accordance with the wish of the Virgin of the Poor, Chaplain Jamin, the then parish priest of Banneux, and some of his friends decided to build the apparition chapel in April 1933.

Mariette left no doubt about the location where the chapel should be built: This is where the Virgin said: I want a small chapel, and this is where it will be built. So exactly in the small vegetable garden of the Beco family.
