The Deimelsberg colliery in the Ruhr Valley was connected to the Johann colliery in 1885/86 and was of great importance for the originally independent city of Steele, which was incorporated in Essen in 1929. The mine was closed shortly before incorporation. In the Ruhr Valley, only the former administration building from around 1860 was preserved.
