<< Mechtenberg Bridge >>
A special building in the Mechtenberg Landscape Park is the 130 m long Mechtenberg Bridge by Frei Otto, which is inspired by bamboo bridges and crosses the federal road 227 and the Leither Bach. They are characterized by fan-shaped iron girders with knot connections - the material of the girders is around 3.8 km long. The 34 m long, much shorter bridge over the Schwarzbach in the north has a similar design and, with its big sister, forms the typical ensemble of the Mechtenberg bridges in the landscape park.

Interesting construction; looks like wood / bamboo from a distance. Only when you cross over do you notice all the pipes and connecting elementselemente
