The Förmitztalsperre, the Förmitzspeicher or Förmitzsee is a dam completed in 1977 on the southern edge of the municipality of Schwarzenbach an der Saale in the Upper Franconian district of Hof. It is named after the Förmitz river of the same name, a right tributary of the "Saxon" Saale. The dam is located at the northern foot of the Waldstein range in the trough-shaped Förmitz valley. Builder and operator is the Free State of Bavaria.
