“The bowl”, which marks the highest point of the Großer Waldstein, is particularly spectacular. It owes its name to a cauldron-shaped depression on the highest rock and the observation pavilion of the same name, which was built there in 1851. The ascent is not entirely without, it goes over narrow stairs, ladders and steps. Beware of rain and slippery conditions. The view on top of the "bowl" is terrific.

Hiking

The Großer Waldstein in the Fichtelgebirge has a wow effect for me, the mighty rock formations just amaze you. The summit plateau is easy to reach and has a wonderful view in all directions. Since there is a hiking parking lot directly below, it is a good starting point for many hikes.
