The arduous way over the many stairs is worthwhile. I would recommend a visit in the morning or in the evening.
With the entrance ticket for the city wall you can also visit the fort. Here some scenes were shot for GoT. When we were there, there was a GoT guide.
This made the rather bald fortress much more interesting.
On another trip to Dubrovnik, I would probably choose a guide.
A visit to the fortress is worthwhile in any case; It has a great view of the city and the sea.November 30, 2019

The Lovrijenac fortress is from the 14th to the 16th century. It is a mighty and large fortification built on a high cliff with sweeping views of the sea. In the past she was extremely important to defend the city of Dubrovnik.
