The "Leckzapfen" is actually a miniature castle and belongs to the winery Schönauer Hof of the Kratz family, only a few meters away. The "leak" can also be rented privately, it is really a great location with a wonderful panorama and the wines are also delicious 🥂.

The miniature castle Leckzapfen was built in 1891 by the manor and mill owner Gustav Friedrich Weißheimer on his vineyard of the same name. The building bears a resemblance to the romantic fairytale castle Lichtenstein, whose historic reconstruction is based on the descriptions of the well-known novel "Lichtenstein" by Wilhelm Hauff. In 2011, the leak cone was awarded the title "Most Beautiful Vineyard Cottage in Rheinhessen".From your balcony you can enjoy a wonderful view over Osthofen, the Rhine plain and the Rhenish Hessian hills. The lick cone is one of the particularly attractive vantage points of the Rheinterrassenweg.
