Hiking
Chania is one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. The first traces date back to the Neolithic period (3400 to 3000 BC). Residential buildings, streets and squares can be found from the Minoan period (3000 to 1100 BC). A palace that probably existed was probably destroyed and used as building material.
