Here, near Obbicht, lies the nature reserve Nattenhoven, a roaming area with large grazers, managed by Natuurmonumenten. A few years ago, this area was still a construction site of the Grensmaas Project: to give the river more space, the banks were lowered and new nature was created. Also near Grevenbicht are Elba, where you can already roam today, and Koeweide-Trierveld, which is still being completed by the Grensmaas Consortium.
