A narrow footpath leads a short distance along the lake shore with old trees and beautiful views of the lake.
You can easily walk around Muckross Lake, but not around the large Lough Lean (which you can see here).translated by

The view goes as far as Killarney... If you want to walk from there: it's about 5km.
