The Old Synagogue, one of the few remaining half-timbered synagogues in Mecklenburg and the last remaining synagogue in the former Müritz district. The rectangular half-timbered building was built in 1831 on Kleine Stavenstraße. The building survived the Nazi era because the town's Jewish community, which now numbered only a few members, had sold it to a haulage contractor in 1936. The contractor used the building as a workshop and garage. Beginning in 2002, the building, which was in danger of collapsing, was restored. Today, it is the historic center of a youth education center. The associated buildings form a courtyard on the south side of the synagogue.
