St. Mary's Church, built on the former temple hill of the Wendish Müritz people, is an important example of the Romanesque-Gothic transitional style and one of the oldest brick buildings in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The original two-bay nave was expanded in the 14th century. The magnificent decoration and extensive endowment indicate princely influence. The renovation of the church between 1849 and 1851 was made possible by high rents and support from the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg. St. Mary's Church is open from May to September. The tower offers a sweeping view of the region. Tours and climbs are possible.
