St. Mary's Church, built on the former temple hill of the Wendish Müritz people, is an important example of the Romanesque-Gothic transitional style and one of the oldest brick buildings in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The original two-bay nave was expanded in the 14th century. The magnificent decoration and extensive endowment indicate princely influence. The renovation of the church between 1849 and 1851 was made possible by high rents and support from the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg. St. Mary's Church is open from May to September. The tower offers a sweeping view of the region. Tours and climbs are possible.

St. Mary's Church in Röbel/Müritz is one of the oldest hall churches in Mecklenburg and a significant landmark in the region. The church's origins date back to the time of a Slavic settlement; construction of the choir began around 1235 under the patronage of Nicholas I of Werle. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the church was expanded with the construction of the nave and later the tower, with the current 58-meter-high tower being erected between 1849 and 1853. The three-aisled, Gothic-style brick church impresses with its magnificent cross-ribbed vault and neo-Gothic furnishings from the mid-19th century. St. Mary's Church is centrally located in Röbel, and its tower offers a sweeping view of the town and Germany's largest inland lake.
