The early Gothic Nikolaikirche in Röbel, the construction of which probably began around 1250, is unique in its closed form in northern Germany.

This also applies to the massive tower, which was built during the robber baron wars in the 15th century, not least as a defense and watchtower.
The "Holy Spirit Church" of the German settlement, which had been used until then, became less and less important and was finally relocated to Predigerstraße after 1389.
