These water tunnels at the Regensteinmühle at the end of the Mühlgraben were driven in laborious manual work only with "mallets and iron" in the rock.

The water supply to the mill was regulated via two approx. 20 m long tunnels carved into the rock.
The water flowed into the left or right tunnels by means of sliders.
One tunnel led the water over the water wheels of the mill, the other led the water past so that the mill wheels could stand still.
The reconstruction is incomplete, the switch that separates the tunnels is missing.

Nice to look at. You probably don't like to see what is crawling around inside. There is a barrier in front of it.

On the back of the Regensteinmühle you can see both entrances to the water tunnels. A sign provides information about technical details.

The barriers have their reasons and must not be climbed over, both for self-protection and to protect the facility. Please keep to it!

Here the water flowed through the sandstone to the other side to the mill. Nicely restored, described and made accessible.

The water flowed through the ditch through the ditch tunnel onto the mill wheels on the other side!

You can actually walk through one of the two tunnels!
THE experience for children! However, some light from a smartphone is probably necessary.
