Hiking

The listed park was built in 1815 on the site of the former Swedish citadel. It was part of one of the largest fortifications in Europe that surrounded the city. At the northwest end of the park is the last remaining defensive tower in the complex, the restored “Old Water Tower”. The old trees and the many benches invite you to linger. The paths along the Mühlenbach are particularly beautifully laid out.
