A small beautiful animal park. Tour is definitely worth it. And the whole thing with free admission. A voluntary donation is welcome.

Petermoor Animal Park is a beautiful place

      Info from the internet:

      History of the park

In 1967, on the initiative of the then city director Wilhelm Lülker in Bassum, the Petermoor was transformed into a nature and animal park. At the same time, the Friends' Association was founded. The founding charter states: "...To promote our city's efforts to transform the Petermoor area into a place of recreation..."

In the 1990s, the association was renamed "Förderverein Tierpark Petermoor Bassum e.V." (Friends' Association of the Petermoor Animal Park, Bassum e.V.). Since the facility's founding, the city of Bassum, as the sponsor, and the Friends' Association, as the moral and financial supporter, have strived to make Petermoor a popular attraction for Bassum.

For its 25th anniversary in 1992, the animal park's offerings were expanded with the creation of a petting zoo for children. This has remained a major attraction to this day. In 1996, a large pond poultry house with a solar system for operating a water fountain was put into operation in cooperation with the Carpenters' Guild. The water fountain improves the water quality in the pond.

A lovely little zoo with no admission charge, but donations are appreciated.

Summer opening hours: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

The goats in the petting zoo can be fed apple or carrot pieces. Perhaps bring something from home? We were lucky, and there was a box of 🍎🥕 on site.
