Zeppelindorf workers' settlementNorth of the Riedlewald lies the Zeppelin village. Around 1915, the area was well outside of Friedrichshafen and thus offered the opportunity to accommodate workers out of sight but within walking distance of industry. In the years 1914 to 1919, the Zeppelin-Wohlfahrt GmbH built the Zeppelin Village under the direction of the architect Paul Bonatz in order to offer the workers who (even then) were increasingly moving to Friedrichshafen appropriate living space. The settlement has been under monument protection since May 1991.

König-Wilhelm-Platz in Zeppelindorf, with its meadow area surrounded by plane trees and the similarly designed one-story houses, which also includes a show house, is an urban jewel.Link:zeppelin-museum.de/de/museum/schauhaus
