With the opening of Hamburg Central Station in 1906, the Blankenese-Ohlsdorf local transport line also went into operation. Eugen Göbel, "architect of engineering for the building deputation," designed the station buildings. Especially on the northern route, he created buildings with individual architecture and with considerable design effort in Ohlsdorf, Rübenkamp and Hasselbrook.

The book "The Buildings of Rail Transport in Hamburg" pays particular tribute to the architecture of Hasselbrook station. The late-historical design of the brick shell is striking. Castle-like with a Gothic repertoire of forms, it is in the tradition of the Hanoverian School of Architecture. Stepped peaks complete the crossed gable roofs, and to the side of the entrance gable with a framed station clock, a tower with a copper onion dome provides a special accent. The facades are enlivened by surrounding cornices, white plaster fields and the differentiated window design.

Today, visitors to the Factory Hasselbrook are no longer driven by wanderlust to the former train station, but by thirst and appetite to the building and the associated beer garden.

The kitchen is open until midnight on weekends and conjures up a hearty meal for later hours. The beer is freshly tapped from the barrel. Every first Saturday of the month, the premises are transformed into a party location where people dance to pop and dance classics.

The Factory serves delicious food at reasonable prices. I can definitely recommend it from my own experience.
