Be warned of the water fullies added to the track. Sometimes the gates in the vallies are shut, sometimes not. The grass section is stunning for the views on a good day. Once at the top, it's a very gentle climb to Devils Dyke so you're nearly there.

This scenic stretch of the South Downs Way links Devil’s Dyke with Truleigh Hill along a chalk ridge. Expect patchwork-style countryside views to the north and stunning sea views overlooking Brighton and Shoreham to the south. The terrain is a mixture of grass and chalky gravel, undulating through open grassland populated by sheep and cows. You can source water at Truleigh Hill YHA or the Devils’s Dyke pub, both a short distance from this segment.
