Porthmelgan Beach is a secluded little sandy beach that's only accessible from the coast path. It's only a short walk from the facilities at Whitesands Beach and, from here, it's only a short hop to the spectacular St David's Head. Beware of strong currents in the water and check the tide times to ensure you don't get cut off.

This beautiful sandy beach is about 20 minutes from Whitesands and you pretty much have it to yourself. Since dogs are not allowed at Whitesands, many hikers with dogs also pass by here. There are good windbreaks and even some caves to explore at low tide.
