If you want to be enchanted by a lot of local color, you definitely shouldn't miss the market in the Kutaisi market hall. The market here is one of the largest and most colorful in all of Georgia. The stalls are full of regional specialties such as cheese, walnuts, spices, herbs, wine and churchkhela - string-strung walnuts in grape caramel. Presently, the sight of them takes some getting used to as they are more reminiscent of candles - but the Georgian specialty is damn tasty.
