The Oskar Dresel Rock is an approximately 12-meter-high granite outcrop made of Bühlertal granite at an elevation of 690 meters near Plättig. As a striking rock formation, it is a geological natural monument. It is located on the Gertelbach circular trail. The last 100 meters to the lower part of the rock are difficult to access due to undergrowth.

At the foot of the rock you can find the memorial plaque for the injured woodcutter Oskar Dresel. During my visit, the undergrowth was largely removed and the path from the junction from the Gertelbach circuit was quite easy to walk.
