Gut Rosenkrantz was called Gut Schinkel until 1828. Through marriage, the estate came into the possession of the von Münchhausen family, who still run it today.

In 1791, the current manor house Gut Rosenkrantz, where a moated castle was mentioned in the Middle Ages, was built. At the end of the 19th century, the estate was expanded to include an enclosed courtyard with a gatehouse with a columned hall.

Today, the Gut Rosenkrantz trading company for natural products (based in Neumünster) operates organic farming here.
