A route of around 6 km takes you over partially damp meadow and forest paths through the spring-green Eider lowlands to the picturesque Ahrensee. The variety of biotopes also allows you to discover rarer plants. If you're lucky, you might see the sea eagle, which lives in a nest here.

The Westensee (elevation 6 m above sea level) is located in the Achterwehr district in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district.
