The ferry is like all ferries over the NOK for persons & bicycles and all kinds of vehicles free of charge!
Kleiner Tipp☝️: If you come from Kiel you should change the page here!

First the "box" over the canal and then along the northern shore to Landwehr and from there to Gettorf, past the Teufelstein, to drink coffee!

One of the 14 ferries across the North-North-Baltic Canal.
    The crossing is free.

A very nice place to sit comfortably by the canal and to look at the ships. Big pots and small pleasure boats.
The ferry is free as all the NOK. The ferry can be reached from Krohnshagen and Kiel on good roads. On both sides of the canal you can cycle very well.

On the way to the ferry you still pass the Waleberer Hof. Since you can eat delicious cake and has a beautiful view of the canal.

The Kiel Canal is an artificial waterway, through the construction of which not only landscapes, forests and fields were intersected, but sometimes also villages and existing highways. The major roads and railways were connected by gigantic bridges, while the smaller ones were "bridged" by ferries. There are a total of 14 ferries operating along the canal, carrying cars, bicycles and pedestrians free of charge, day and night, from one bank to another, as required by imperial regulations. For anxious passengers, they are probably the safest means of transport, because over 100 years of history there have been no significant accidents!Interesting is the translation with the ferry Landwehr "Kołobrzeg" anyway, but you can usually look at one or more ships, which just cross the path of the ferry.kielkanal.de/html/fahren.html
