The mighty tower, which was raised in 1751, still stands from the medieval church. In the years 1791/92 the sober and at the same time noble hall with the high galleries was attached to it. The green color that runs through the church gives the room a special atmosphere. The nobles at Lauenstein Castle made Ludwigsstadt their main church and burial place, as evidenced by the old tombstones.

Worth seeing in the Markgrafenkirche are the neoclassical pulpit altar and the baptism in the form of a vase, the three-sided double gallery, as well as the tombs of Count Otto von Orlamünde (1408) and Christoph von Thüna.
