The Royal Warsaw Castle (Polish: Zamek Królewski w Warszawie) was the seat of the Polish kings until the 18th century. After it was completely destroyed in the Second World War by the German armed forces[1][2] and by the Technical Emergency Aid demolition squad[3], it was rebuilt from 1971 to 1988. In 1980 the castle was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of Warsaw's Old Town.
