The oldest settlement center of Mürsbach includes the Catholic parish church of St. Sebastian with its vicarage situated on a hill. The church square with cemetery was fortified in the 15th century in religious turmoil. The fortified tower and remnants of the walls as well as the rectory have been preserved until today. The church square is considered one of the most important sandstone squares in Franconia. In the church itself, the epitaphs, especially in the choir, are worth seeing. The grave slabs, including those on the cemetery wall, belonged to members of the Franconian noble family "derer von Fulbach", who had their seat in Gleusdorf and the right of the grave lay in the Mürsbach church. The ceiling paintings in Art Nouveau were only executed in 1910 during a church renovation. The parish Mürsbach belongs to the diocese of Würzburg and borders very close to the Archdiocese of Bamberg.
