The artist and architect Norbert Kostka and the interior designer Ute Reimund purchased the tower. Since then, the planning and implementation of the new usage concept has been the subject of numerous competitions and publications. Several newspaper articles have appeared on this subject and TV programs have reported on this. The conversion process is part of an artistic concept of “creating space” that Norbert Kostka has been pursuing since 1991. The concept also includes the author's project Galerie Kostka, which he has already implemented in a water tower in Cologne-Braunsfeld.
In the lower part of the tower, three floors were developed, which have been used as an apartment and studio since 2000. In 2008 the fourth, completely glazed floor was added. As part of the expansion, the drip floor and the water tower container were made accessible. Events of all kinds (exhibitions, music performances, inspections, etc.) occasionally take place in the rooms. The tower is opened to the public on occasions such as Monument Day, Architecture Day or Art Tour.

A beautiful old water tower which has been completely converted into a home at the bottom.
