The Die Papenmühle stands by the Papenteich. The building itself was never a mill. Built in 1875, from 1905 a hotel with a restaurant, later a military hospital and now a residential building. The building fits wonderfully into the overall ensemble and is a real eye-catcher. The whole pond with the mill seems sooooo peaceful. Simply beautiful.

The Papenteich used to be used by the mill as a mill pond to damming up the water and driving it. The classicist building directly on the pond, known as the "Papenmühle", was never a mill, but was built next to the mill on the Papenteich, which had existed since the 15th century.
