Papenteich and Papenmühle in the Spa Park

The Papenmühle (Papen Mill) stands on the Papenteich lake. The building itself was never a mill. Built in 1875, it served as a hotel and restaurant from 1905, later a hospital, and now a residential building.The building fits perfectly into the overall ensemble and is a real eye-catcher.The entire pond and mill seem so peaceful. Simply beautiful.

The Papenteich used to be used by the mill as a mill pond to damming up the water and driving it. The classicist building directly on the pond, known as the "Papenmühle", was never a mill, but was built next to the mill on the Papenteich, which had existed since the 15th century.
