The path of memories and camaraderie, a 32.5 km long recreational route that encircles Ljubljana, takes place where during the Second World War the city was surrounded by a military prison with barbed wire. The path, which is also called Pot ob zici or Green Ring, is mainly intended for walking and running, and we also meet many cyclists on it.
It is mostly wide and sandy, comfortable for walking, and partly leads through populated parts of the city, where it is asphalted in places. In some places, it merges closely with nature, for example on Golovec hill or near Koseško bajer, but even otherwise it has a predominantly "green" character: around 7,400 trees of almost fifty species are planted next to it.
The path is marked with boards on which its course is outlined, and hikers are also guided along it by round metal markers in the ground. Next to it are memorial stones marking the positions of the former bunkers.
