It is one of the run-of-river power stations that form the power station stairs on the Mittlere-Isar Canal. The power plant was built together with the sister plants Finsing, Eitting and Pfrombach by Mittlere Isar AG, which were later taken over by Bayernwerk, which in turn was merged into E.ON, the parent company of the former operator E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH, from which it was converted through conversions came to Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH.
