Overlooking the harbour of the same name, Glandore village is surrounded by clear blue water. There are even resident seals and further out into the bay its not unusual to see whales, dolphins, porpoises and sharks. Despite its small size, there are a number of pubs, perfect places to rest your tired legs and take in your surroundings.

Glandore - a picturesque spot on the coast that surprised me on my tour along the Wild Atlantic Way. The calm waters of the harbor are a clear blue, and if you're lucky you can even see the resident seals playing. During my break there, overlooking the water and the rolling hills in the background, I just let the moment take hold. The narrow streets and peaceful atmosphere practically invite you to get off and visit one of the pubs in the village. A cold drink in hand, legs stretched out - there is no better way to break up a bike ride. What makes this place special is its proximity to nature. Further out in the bay, whales, dolphins and sometimes sharks are said to frolic. Even though I didn't see any myself, just the thought of it gives the place something magical. If you pass through here, treat yourself to a little time out and let the vastness of the bay work its magic on you.
