Hiking

The name of the island refers to a Magdeburg legend. According to it, Elwine, the ruler of the Elbe, owned a coral, red horn. A knight from Buckau fell in love with her, but broke a promise and so Elwine disappeared. Only the red horn remained. Willfried lived on the island ever since, and after his death a salty spring emerged there.
